Hepatitis C Treatment One Step at a Time

bookThe easy part about writing a book is the writing. The hard part comes after the book is released. Overnight, my job description goes from writing to marketing. The bottom line is that Hepatitis C Treatment One Step at a Time is not going to do any good if it isn’t in the hands of readers.

My dilemma is that I’d rather spend my time helping others than promoting my book. I know my book is packed with information and tips to help others, but let’s face it, “Buy my book” is an off-putting statement. Honestly, this is what I want some people to do. I say “some” because I don’t want people to purchase it unless they have hepatitis C and are undergoing treatment.

I showed Hepatitis C Treatment One Step at a Time to a friend. She asked where she could buy a copy. “Amazon sells them,” I told her, “but you don’t have hepatitis C. Why on earth would you want a copy?” This friend, who is grieving over the recent death of her husband, opened my book and started reading:

There are moments when I feel like giving up or giving in, but I soon rally again and do my duty as I see it: to keep the spark of life inside me ablaze.—Etty Hillesum

Staying positive is one of those things we are implored to try, but if you don’t feel positive, it can be torture to try. If you can’t muster up any joy, then at least practice acceptance. Even some who have experienced brutal events have found ways to be grateful and joyful. From that perspective, HCV treatment doesn’t seem that bad, does it?

Tip for Today: At low points, some patients turn to supplements, hoping these will improve their mood. Resist all temptation to take large doses of vitamins or other supplements. The body is built to use what it needs. At best, your body eliminates the excess, hurting only your budget. At worst, high doses may be toxic to the liver and other organs.

“This can help anyone,” my friend said.

Perhaps she is right. For those who want to try to win a copy of Hepatitis C Treatment One Step at a Time, Hepatitis C News is having a contest; the prize is my book. Click here for details.
