I always think of Labor Day weekend as the official end of summer. It is when we rest, and then roll up our sleeves and get back to work. With hepatitis C, we have our work cut out for us. Last month, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced their recommendations for hepatitis C testing for all Baby Boomers (people born in the years 1945 through 1965). The majority of those with hepatitis C do not know they have this potentially deadly virus.
So, rest this Labor Day weekend; enjoy your friends and family, the shorter days, the blue moon, and the still warm sunsets. Then roll up your sleeves and help spread the word. We have millions to reach and their futures can be lengthened if we reach them in time.
